What is Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers?
Lanolin is a natural substance found in sheep’s wool. This product is made with manufacturing processes that reduce certain allergens in the lanolin.
Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers (for the skin) is used to treat or prevent dry skin, itching or other skin irritation caused by conditions such as diaper rash, radiation therapy skin burns, and others.
Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers is also used to treat sore and cracked nipples caused by breast-feeding.
Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Before taking this medicine
You should not use Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers if you are allergic to it.

How should I take Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers?
Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers is available in cream or ointment form. Use your medicine exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Do not take by mouth. Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers is for use only on the skin. If this product gets in your eyes, nose, mouth, rectum, or vagina, rinse with water.
Apply a small amount of lanolin topical to the affected area and rub in gently.
To use Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers for sore nipples: Apply a pea-sized amount to the entire nipple area after each feeding. You do not need to wash off this medicine before breast-feeding again.
When using Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers to treat or prevent diaper rash: Clean the diaper area well and allow it to dry thoroughly before applying the medicine. Apply at each diaper change as needed.
To treat or prevent radiation therapy skin burns: Ask your healthcare professional which brand to use and when to apply it (before or after each radiation treatment).
Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse while using Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the bottle or tube tightly closed when not in use.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Since this product is used as needed, it does not have a daily dosing schedule. Seek medical advice if your condition does not improve after using Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers.
What happens if I overdose?
An overdose is unlikely to occur.
What should I avoid while taking Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers?
Avoid getting Lansinoh for Breast Feeding Mothers in your eyes.
