What is Exoderm?
is an antifungal medicine that fights infections caused by fungus.
helps your skin absorb the sodium thiosulfate.
Exoderm (for the skin) is a combination medicine used to treat a skin infection called tinea versicolor, that appears as white patches on the skin.
Exoderm may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
You should not use Exoderm if you are allergic to sulfa drugs.
Before taking this medicine
You should not use Exoderm if you are allergic to salicylic acid, sodium thiosulfate, or sulfa drugs.
It is not known whether Exoderm will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medicine.
It is not known whether salicylic acid and sodium thiosulfate topical passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
How should I use Exoderm?
Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Wash your hands before and after applying this medicine, unless you are using it to treat a hand condition.
Before you apply this medicine, wash and thoroughly dry the infected skin.
Shake the lotion well just before each use.
Apply this medication only to the infected skin area. Try not to get any medicine on the healthy skin around the treated area.
Do not cover the treated skin area unless your doctor tells you to.
Rinse with water if this medicine gets in your eyes.
Use Exoderm regularly to get the most benefit. Get your prescription refilled before you run out of medicine completely.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
What happens if I overdose?
An overdose of Exoderm is not expected to be dangerous. Seek emergency medical attention or call 115 if anyone has accidentally swallowed the medication.
What should I avoid while using salicylic acid and sodium thiosulfate topical?
Do not take by mouth. Exoderm is for use only on the skin. Do not use this medicine on open wounds or on scraped, irritated, or damaged skin. If this medicine gets in your eyes, nose, mouth, rectum, or vagina, rinse with water.
Avoid using other medications on the areas you treat with Exoderm unless your doctor tells you to.
Exoderm side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

What other drugs will affect Exoderm?
It is not likely that other drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on topically applied salicylic acid and sodium thiosulfate. But many drugs can interact with each other. Tell each of your health care providers about all medicines you use, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and .
Remember, keep this and all other medicines out of the reach of children, never share your medicines with others, and use this medication only for the indication prescribed.
